Prairie Roots 2.0

Welcome to the spiffed up Prairie Roots Blog! I’ve reorganized things a bit over here. All posts from the old site at Blogger are in my new sidebar under “Archives” and all the old “Labels” are now “Categories”. The main advantage I saw with WordPress is the ability to create pages. So, the links I had on the Blogspot sidebar are now on the “Resources” page at the top. I also want to continue a discussion of revitalizing my local downtown area, so all related posts are now on the “Main Street” page. The “Norwegian Boulevard” page contains links to sites discussing rural issues.

A new development to Prairie Roots is the “South Dakota Green Directory” (link at top). This will be a growing collection of resources and links emphasizing green/local businesses, events, and opportunities specific to South Dakota. I’m planning to work in some online interviews with people, businesses and non-profits who have a green focus, so stay tuned for the first of those coming soon. If you know of something that would make a good feature here, send your suggestion my way.

Of course, I’ll continue blogging about my own experiences with sustainability–being rooted in my spot of South Dakota, reducing my ecological footprint, organic gardening, etc. If you’re heading in that direction (or are already there), I hope you’ll stop by and share your stories and comments.
