New Sustainability Group At SDSU

Toddler care prevented me from making the trip to Brookings for the recent forum about a new sustainability group starting at South Dakota State. The SDSU Collegian, however, reported on it last week. According to their article:

Goals of the group have not yet been set but they hope to address possibilities at their next meeting on Oct. 3. Members would like to work on an array of issues including non-motorized transportation, water conservation, agriculture, locally grown foods, environmentally friendly buildings, household energy, green chemistry and more.

Sustainability-minded SDSU students and area residents interested in helping this organization get off the ground can contact Jessica Miller ( or Jane Hegland ( for more information.
