Glad I Don’t Have To Explain This To The Daughter Just Yet

HawkMr. Prairie Roots already posted this, but I can’t help adding this magnificent prairie bird to my blog, too. He gave us an up-close view when he landed on our front porch after I scared him from beneath our deck. That’s where I found him when I went searching for the source of rabbit shrieking I heard yesterday. He was pretty intent on getting his dinner, and he circled and hovered over our house for quite some time. Not sure where the rabbit ended up, but I have a pretty good guess (although I’ll refrain from adding the “local food” tag to this post).

All in nature’s cycle of life and death.
